Mrs. Emilie Ketterman
Hello..My name is Mrs. Ketterman and I currently teach 5th grade. This is my third year teaching fifth grade at Lincoln Elementary. I started working for the district in 2010. During the last 7 years, I have worked with all grade levels. I received my Bachelors of Science in Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania better known as IUP. Next summer, I will be working toward earning my Masters degree in Education. My motto is that every student can be successful if they work for it. Every student has an endless world of possibilities in front of them and I believe that all who want to achieve can learn. The symbol in my classroom is the anchor. Anchors symbolize many things but in my classroom, it symbolizes a foundation in learning that will create life long learners.
Besides teaching, I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I currently live outside of Gettysburg with my husband, Eric and our three children. We also have 2 dogs and a cat. Our children are in 8th, 10th, and a college freshman. My family and I enjoy many sports but most of all baseball. Our favorite MLB team is the Baltimore Orioles. We also enjoy camping, swimming, football, going to the beach and other adventurous things.
Our Schedule is packed full daily and time goes fast. Attendance is very important because of the rate of content that is covered on a daily basis. All students in my classroom are allowed to have a water bottle with them. It should have water only. Research shows that a hydrated brain is a sponge for learning.
