Curriculum Process

The GASD Curriculum Cycle is a six-phase process that includes:

  1. Study and Research
  2. Gap Analysis/Curriculum Alignment
  3. Curriculum Writing  Part I
  4. Curriculum Writing Part II
  5. Pilot/Implementation
  6. Implementation/Evaluation/Revision

Our curriculum work is guided by a focus on clarity, coherence, and continuous improvement to ensure all students experience high-quality learning.

Our district adopted the Understanding by Design (UbD) curriculum writing model in the 2018-2019 school year to guide the development of standards-aligned curriculum. Teachers collaborate across content areas to design units that promote deep understanding and meaningful learning.

The Curriculum Blueprint provides course descriptions and, in many areas, unit overviews organized by grade and subject. Departments update and refine these materials throughout the year as part of the ongoing curriculum review cycle.
