Welcome to GASD's Communication Department
The Communications Department supports the District’s mission, vision and values and the educational process by delivering effective, transparent, two-way communication with all of its stakeholders. The department is responsible for the District’s internal and external communication efforts, branding, media relations, social media, marketing material production and distribution and community engagement. The Communications Department serves as an internal consultant to schools and other departments on communication-related issues, regularly partnering with other staff members to ensure communication needs for district-wide initiatives are met.
Interviewing School Officials
We recognize the importance of media as a source of information, but we also share the important job of ensuring the safety and privacy of students, staff and families. We will do everything we can to work cooperatively with all requests - as long as the request is lawful, adheres to safety requirements and does not interfere with teaching or learning. If interested in interviewing an official or staff member, first contact the Communications Department.
Photographing Students or Staff
No Gettysburg Area School District students or staff are to be interviewed or photographed without written consent from the Office of Communications.
It is Gettysburg Area School District policy for all news media inquiries regarding the district, departments or school sites to be referred to the Communication Department to ensure the most timely and accurate response.
