- Mudslingers : SERVICE Club Advisor: Mrs. Julie Myers At Mudslingers Club, GAHS, people of all ages and ability levels come together in a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere to explore ceramic arts. We offer tools, support and instruction to help stimulate the artist in us all.
Our primary outreach and fundraising event is Empty Bowls. We support SCCAP’s Gleaning Project together with Gettysburg College to raise awareness about hunger related issues, raise money for hunger related organizations, and advocate for community involvement. We do this by donating handmade ceramic bowls for a simple community meal with 100% donation going to feeding hungry people in our community.

STEAM club is a ground-breaking all-in-one innovation. It offers fun and creative hands-on activities that allow your child to explore the concepts of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). Our STEAM club links education and fun together while inspiring our youth for success in the future in a safe, structured, and healthy environment.
Although conventional education may teach these subjects as separate disciplines, STEAM club ties them together and proves that they are most powerful when working in combination.
Our STEAM club at GAHS developed a “bond” theme in 2018 to create our first STEAM activity with the help of Artist and Art Teacher, Chemist and Chemistry Teacher, local community YWCA STEAM representative in the GAHS kitchen with our cookie cook off. In this activity students were required to use only the items in their “basket” to make the same recipe. Lipids, sugars and other binding molecules were switched to include investigation and exploration along with basic chemical bond knowledge.
