Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Shannon Jones

I am one of the learning support teachers at Lincoln Elementary School.  I received both my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my master's degree in Special Education from Shippensburg University.  I have been a learning support teacher for 16 years.  It is my job to help instruct students who may need more repetitions to understand a skill or concept.  I work with students who have been identified with a learning disability.  However, I also work with students who simply need a little more time, more repetitions or instruction presented in another way to be successful in the classroom.  That is my ultimate goal - For students to be Successful.

I live in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  My husband teaches science at Red Land High School in the West Shore School District.  We have two wonderful children.  Ethan is in eighth grade and Alexa is in sixth grade this year.  Our family loves to be outside!  We enjoy swimming, going on hikes and playing badminton in the backyard.  This summer we were able to spend some time at Indian Lake in Somerset, PA and Ocean City, MD.

We have two new additions to our family.  After many years, my daughter persuaded me to get kittens this summer.  We adopted Bella (a brown tabby girl) and Milos (a gray tabby boy) from Adams County SPCA.  They are a lot of fun and certainly keep us busy.

I have a few hobbies.  I absolutely love swimming.  I swim at our local YMCA but, I always look forward to warmer weather so I can swim outside.  I like to scrapbook and work on craft projects with Alexa.  It's fun to be creative and reminisce.  My son enjoys helping me create meals in the kitchen.  Ethan enjoys cooking but, I enjoy baking the most.  Cookies are my favorite thing to bake but, I also like baking and decorating cakes.

I'm very excited to be working with such wonderful students and enthusiastic staff at Lincoln Elementary.  Along with your support, we can make this a successful year for your child.  Let's have a great year!
