Finance and Facilities Committee Meeting
Meeting Minutes
January 15, 2026
Administrators Present: Tom Fortnum, Kody Godsey, Jeffrey Matzner, Matthew McFarland, Josh Reynolds, and Vanessa Sanders
Board Members Present: Mike Dickerson, Tim Seigman, Justine Sieg, and David Sites
Public Present: Julieta Booz
Topic for Discussion:
- Team Room Scope Project
- Mr. Reynolds noted this project was sent back to the Finance and Facilities Committee for further review and discussion based on the previous motion: the removal of the viewing platform and roof access path for the team room project.
- Mr. Seigman said the team room project, including those items, passed in an 8-1 vote.
- Mr. Seigman also expressed his concern over the lack of spectator viewing during football games, which is why they were seeking those options with the team room project. The capacity would be approximately 400 people allowed on the platform or there is potential to add bleachers to hold 280, according to Mr. Seigman.
- Mr. Dickerson mentioned he saw a team room added at Northern Lebanon’s stadium and indicated it was utilized in a neat concept
- Mr. Sites acknowledged the concerns of the previous board. However, he looks at whether an item is a necessity or not.
- From his perspective, Mr. Sites believes it is an overspend and security issue to include the viewing platform and roof access path.
- Mr. Sites said he would like to take it back to the board for a vote.
- Mr. Sites also indicated he would have opted to expand the current locker rooms in the middle school instead of the team room project.
- Mr. Dickerson noted that the middle school students needed to have a separate space from high school students, which is why they could not expand the current locker rooms.
- Mr. Sites clarified that he was not asking to start the project over.
- Dr. Matzner asked for the committee to decide what the agenda item should look like for the upcoming meeting.
- Mr. Sites suggested having the same agenda item on the next board meeting including the elimination of the viewing platform and roof access path.
- Mr. Reynolds recommended having two options for the board to vote on: the first to keep the project the same and the second to remove the viewing platform and roof access path.
- Mr. Reynolds also noted that due to a permitting issue with Cumberland Township and pricing changes in the new year that the current bids have expired. Working to get in touch with the contractors, Mr. Reynolds believes the board could vote on the scope and then rebid the job with the same timing as last year with the bids coming in late August. The construction would begin after the last football game.
- Mr. Seigman asked if Mr. Reynolds could give the contractor 30 days and see how much of an increase they’d be looking to charge for the project. His concern stemmed from pricing changes in the new year and rebidding the project.
- Mr. Sites asked what permit the district needs for the project.
- Mr. Reynolds said Cumberland Township is requesting the district close out the middle school project before issuing a building permit for the team room project.
The next meeting will be held on February 19, 2026 at 4 p.m. in the Boardroom at the Administration Building.
