     Go Warriors!

The Board of School Directors has adopted eligibility standards established by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).  Standards include regular school attendance, insurance coverage, medical certification, full-time student status, and achievement of minimal academic standards.  Students must receive passing grades for at least three (3) credits on a weekly basis and must pass at least three (3) credits per semester and a total of six (6) for the school year.  Students not meeting the eligibility requirements will not be allowed to participate in athletic contests and scrimmages, will not be allowed to travel with the team, and will not be able to practice unless they are receiving tutoring or attending special study sessions.  Students can retain eligibility lost at the end of the school year by attending summer school and passing enough credits to meet the six (6) credit minimum.  During the school year, if an eligible student is passing at least three (3) credits at the midterm check grade, he or she will be declared eligible.  Athletes who arrive to school at or after 8:30 am will be considered late and thus uneligible to play that day. Please contact the athletic director if you have any questions.

Grades will be checked on Friday of each week.  Students who are not passing 3 out of 4.5 credits on a cumulative basis will not be:

o    Allowed to participate in athletic contests or scrimmages

o    Able to travel with their respective teams to away contests

o    Able to practice unless they are receiving tutoring or attending special study areas monitored by their coach or assigned peer.  The coach must notify the athletic office of the efforts being made to improve the students’ scholastic work before practice time may be granted.

Athletes must pass 6 out of 9 credits at the conclusion of grades 9, 10, and 11 to be eligible to practice or complete in athletics for the following year:

o    If the athlete attends summer school and passes enough credits to meet the 6 out of 9 standards, eligibility will be granted

o    If the athlete is passing 3 out of 4.5 credits at the mid-term grade check of the first marking period, he/she will be declared eligible.
