APPLYING FOR FREE OR REDUCED MEALS JUST GOT FASTER AND EASIER
A parent or guardian should complete the online application after July 1st of each school year. Click on the School Cafe icon below to get started! If you completed an application during the previous school year, you should have access to your account. If this is the first time you have signed in to School Cafe, you must create a new account.
1. Choose the correct state (Pennsylvania) and the correct School District (Gettysburg Area School District).
2. Click "Go to My District". Please note that if your child attends Franklin Township Elementary, please use the zip code 17310.
3. Complete the application information and click register.
The application will be directed to the Food Service Department. If you need assistance completing the application, please call the Food Service department at 717-334-6254 ext. 1204. We will send a results letter home with your child within 10 days of submission. All information is strictly confidential. Your children will be carried over on free or reduced meals for the first few days of the new school year, but you still must submit a new application each school year unless you received a letter of Direct Certification.
Families receiving State SNAP or TANF are eligible for free meals. If you receive a letter in August of each new school year that directly certifies your children for free meals, you do not have to complete an application. If all children in your household are not listed on the letter, please call the Food Service office at 717-334-6254 ext. 1204 immediately. If you do not receive a letter and are receiving assistance you must complete a meal application.
