     General Requirements for Law Enforcement Jobs

    1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
    2. Minimum age is usually 21.
    3. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
    4. Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.
    5. No felony or misdemeanor convictions.
    6. Must pass a written entrance test.
    7. Must pass a physical fitness test.
    8. Must pass an oral interview.
    9. Must pass a physical examination.
    10. Background investigation is conducted.
    11. Must pass a psychological evaluation.
    12. Upon hire candidate must obtain required certification from an accredited academy.
