An Apprenticeship is an opportunity for a person to join the workforce of a company and gain training and education through on the job and classroom training.  These programs are typically offered at no cost to you, and in fact you are receiving a portion of the full salary during your apprenticeship.  At the conclusion of an apprenticeship, the apprentice has gained the skills and knowledge necessary to earn full employment and a full salary in the field.  These programs vary in length, but typically take a few years.

Often, apprenticeships are in the fields of Electrician, Carpentry, Welding, etc.  Check out this website to search for sponsoring companies.  You will need to contact the company directly to find out if they have any apprenticeship openings.
